About the Faculty
Our Samskritam retreat features a distinguished team of Vedic scholars, kāvya and sāhitya śāstra experts, and Indian classical music maestros. With decades of experience in teaching and promoting Samskritam, and a deep commitment to the Vedas and śāstras, they are devoted to sharing the profound knowledge contained within these texts. This retreat is designed to create an immersive environment for the holistic learning of the Samskritam language. Through a thoughtfully curated series of activities, participants will experience living in a Samskritam-immersive setting for three enriching days.

Smt. Parvathi Sriram, currently serves as the Coordinator of Sanskrit Studies at Hindu University of America. A physical therapist by qualification, she has over a decade of experience in teaching Samskritam and Vedanta at various organizations in the US. At HUA, she leads the Certificate Programs in Sanskrit Studies. Besides HUA, she teaches Sanskrit at Arsha Vidya Bhaarati, and has been teaching Vedanta to Balavihar students at Chinmaya Mission Houston since 2013. She continues her Vedanta and Sanskrit learning to deepen her knowledge.


Shri Sree Aswath, is a retired system analyst from the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Columbus, Ohio. He has an academic background in physics, mathematics, Law, and computer sciences. He is a Vedic scholar and had training in Sanskrit from his Grandfather, Sri MSS Sastry, Vidwan of Mysore Court. He also received formal training in Vedas for 9 years from Acharya of Yajur Veda, Professor Anantakrishna of Bangalore Sanskrit College.
He has been teaching Veda and Vedanta to several students since 1995 in the US. He continues to teach Sanskrit language, and Scriptures of India in several weekly evening sessions to different groups in Columbus, OH. He has conducted several workshops, and seminars on Indian Scriptures in the US, Canada, Mexico, and India. Many of his talks on Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, major Upanishads as well as Chanting of Vedic.

Kanada Narahari, also known as Kanada Raghava, is an Ayurvedic physician holding a BAMS degree and a distinguished writer in Kannada. He has authored two short story collections that have garnered prestigious awards. Since 2007, he has practiced Ayurvedic medicine in India, Nepal, South Africa, and the USA.
Born in Manchikeri, a quaint village nestled in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, India, Kanada’s father, Vidvan Narahari Keshava Bhat, is a celebrated Sanskrit scholar, poet, and author with numerous works on theatre plays and Yakshagaana—a traditional form of performing art. It comes as no surprise that Kanada was immersed in Indian performing arts, music, and literature from a very young age. At the age of nine, he began studying Carnatic classical vocal music under Vidushi Shreedevi Aravind. Over time, his passion shifted towards Hindustani Classical music, especially the Sitar.
